Fantastic Fireworks managing director Jon Culverhouse with Colin Bryan, CEO of Drayton Manor Park, holding the trophyWhen choosing a fireworks company to light up your special event there are now two great reasons for choosing Fantastic Fireworks. Hot on the heels of our win at the British Fireworks Championship we have just added another sparkling success.

At a glittering awards ceremony in London honouring outstanding performances by UK event organisers we were proud and thrilled to win first prize in the Visual Spectaculars category. Shortlisted alongside six other leading contenders, including the Rugby World Cup Final, our production of Jeff Wayne’s musical version of the War of the Worlds won the judges’ vote.

Nearly 500 leading lights of the industry attended the Event Production Awards.  Judges assessed a host of outstanding visual shows. As well as the Rugby World Cup other finalists included the Floating House on the Thames, Wales National Airshow and Falling Stars at Secret Garden Party.

‘Amazing, fantastic’ said Jon Culverhouse, managing director, as the result was announced. ‘We set out to show that fireworks can be used in an innovative and exciting way to tell a story. We want our clients to know that when they book Fantastic Fireworks they are booking the best. Our win here tonight on top of being crowned British Fireworks Champions makes that doubly clear.’

Our War of the Worlds show, based on the sci-fi novel by H G Wells with music by Jeff Wayne, was staged at Drayton Manor Park in Staffordshire and at Windsor Racecourse in Berkshire. Colin Bryan, managing director of Drayton Manor Park, said: ‘I couldn’t be more delighted. Fantastic Fireworks have been staging outstanding displays for us for almost 25 years and this was the best one yet.’
