We Will Remember Them

Bonfire Night has come and gone, firework companies have excelled and once again hundreds of thousands have been entertained. Of all the firework events taking place up and down the country few can compare with the drama of our show at Royal Windsor Racecourse.

It was here that we unveiled our epic production of War horse, one of the most ambitious Bonfire Night displays ever attempted in the UK. Based on the best-selling book by Michael Morpurgo, we produced a spectacular piece of pyrotechnic theatre. It was narrated by the actor Robert Powell and set to an emotive musical soundtrack.

The 30-minute show starred real horses, amazing fireworks and stunning special effects. These included a fiery representation of Joey, the warhorse hero of the story, a replica Devon village and even the moving image of a German tank. Joey was played by a local stunt horse and behaved impeccably despite the barrage of bangs going on behind him. He was joined by another horse playing his best friend Topthorn in the story of how they were thrown into the horrors of the First World War. While Topthorn dies, Joey returns to a hero’s welcome.

To commemorate the centenary of the outbreak of the Great War we created a breathtaking finale with the sky awash with red ‘poppy’ stars. ‘This was a massive challenge’ and you pulled it off. We have received nothing but praise’ said Windsor Racecourse manager Gavin Jones.

Watch the highlights, Warhorse- the fireworks.

Skyfall - the awesome Himley firework finaleWhile Warhorse topped our bill of spectacular Bonfire Night displays we had many more in close contention. Our fireworks, lasers and flames show at Drayton Manor Park was rated as one of the best ever seen there while at Himley Hall near Dudley our Divas and Dudes display – one of the biggest Bonfire Night displays in the UK – was hailed by Himley events manager Sally Newell as ‘a total triumph.’

Our photo perfectly captures the finale to Skyfall by Adele, with the audience spellbound by the apocalyptic vision unfolding in front of them.
