Fancy a job in fireworks? We are recruiting
We are always on the lookout for new talent to boost our amazing team of pyrotechnicians. Firers, as we call them, are at the heart of our operation.
They are the intrepid performers who go out in all weathers to set up and fire our displays safely and expertly. In the old days it literally was with a box of matches. Today it’s all very hi-tec with electronic firing systems that are pre-programmed. You press a button and off the display goes.
We have a core staff of more than 100 who we can call on to go out and light up the skies around Bonfire Night and other times of the year. Most have day jobs, ranging from landscape gardeners to IT. We even have a QC! But by night they become magicians, conjuring up sky magic for audiences up and down the country.
They all start the same way. They attend a few displays to learn the ropes and then come on our officially recognised training course. This is followed by an exam, which on passing becomes the passport to being a fully qualified pyrotechnician.
Working for us can take you all over the country, from firing the Jorvik Viking Festival display in York to a wedding display at a stately home like Knebworth or Blenheim Palace. And you get paid!
If this sounds like an interesting proposition please get in touch. Our next course is on May 21st and 22nd here at our HQ near Luton and we’d love to see you (as long as you are over 18). You can contact us on 0845 272 3550 or email [email protected]
