Hitting the right note at firework concerts

Posted on January 26, 2017

Organising firework concerts is a stressful job at the best of times. Booking the acts, choosing the venue and picking a date are the easy bits. But come the big day and it’s kicking off in all directions, you need suppliers you can trust to get on with the job. When you’re dealing with highly strung musicians or prima donna artistes the last thing you want is a supplier showing up late or who’s  got stuck in the mud.

Where fireworks are involved there are a whole lot of other things that can send stress levels into the stratosphere. An overnight downpour has left the firing site under water. An unexpected change in wind direction means the firing site might need moving or, even more inconveniently, the audience. Or, the fireworks that have been arranged for the final encore don’t get fired because the conductor has forgotten there is a final encore!

The show goes on

Fortunately such occurrences are rare In any case, the professionalism of all the more experienced professional firework companies will ensure your concert fireworks go off whatever difficulties present themselves on the night.

Here at Fantastic Fireworks we pride ourselves on our expertise in delivering concert fireworks par excellence.

But don’t take our word for it. Listen to what Clara Policella, event organiser at the Bedford Proms, has to say about working with Fantastic Fireworks.

When choreographing fireworks to live music it’s important to have someone who can read a musical score. Whether it’s the 1812 or Land of Hope and Glory, making sure the fireworks go up in time with the music is a key element of a well-designed and executed display.

At Fantastic Fireworks we are lucky to have Tony Freedman, an accomplished musician, in this role. Tony will liaise with the conductor, attend the rehearsal and make any last-minute amendments to the firing order. As the Senior Firer at all our live music events he will also take into account factors such as changes in wind direction and act  accordingly. In adverse weather conditions our firing systems give him the ability to remove any fireworks he considers a danger at a moment’s notice.

We believe our experience in this field of pyrotechnics will give event organisers the peace of mind to forget about us and attend to more pressing matters.
